JOSE ORTEGA
EST 2011 - - -
From a young age, José Ortega, artistically known as Ortega Tattoo, showed a great passion for drawing and creativity. Although he did not formally study art, his love for visual expressions was always present. His academic background was in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, the latter of which he graduated in, but he always kept one foot in the world of art, which led him to explore different forms of expression from an early age.

In 2011, he began experimenting with tattooing, although in an intermittent way. It wasn’t until 2016 that he fully committed to becoming a professional tattoo artist in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. That same year, José Luis decided to take the entrepreneurial route by creating Boomker Shop, a store specializing in tattoo supplies, and Boomker Tattoo Studio, the space where he worked. His passion for graffiti, a discipline he developed over the years by creating murals in his city, became the foundation of his artistic evolution, bringing lettering and graphic forms to his clients' skin.

One of his greatest influences was his father, who, despite not having formal art education, possessed remarkable imagination and talent for painting and craftsmanship. This family influence allowed José Luis to develop a unique technique that integrates street art with the depth of tattooing.
Throughout his career, Ortega Tattoo has had the opportunity to work in different countries, such as Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and currently in the United States, where he resides. His work has expanded internationally, participating in conventions and gaining recognition for his skills in various categories, such as Free Hand, Lettering, and Black and Grey.

Despite his background in technological fields, Ortega Tattoo has managed to become a prominent figure in the tattoo world. By combining his studies and natural talent, he has managed to merge his style with techniques such as Realism, Black & Grey, True Grey, and, of course, Lettering, one of his passions inherited from graffiti. He has also developed a strong appreciation for Japanese tattooing, which he has personalized with his own touch.

The evolution of his style has been an endless journey that excites and motivates him from the beginning. Every tattoo is an opportunity to learn and express something new on his clients' skin. His work reflects how his experience combines with creativity, resulting in pieces filled with detail and passion.
Currently, Ortega Tattoo works at Liberty Tattoo Club, a prestigious studio in Sarasota, FL, where he continues to refine his art. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous tattoo conventions across the United States, standing out in major events in Florida. Some of his most recent achievements include:
